Who can apply?
1. South African citizens can apply for an Indian visa in one of the following ways:
-Apply online at the website of the High Commission of India in Pretoria or at the website of the Consulate General of India in Johannesburg. INDIAN BUSINESS VISA FOR UK CITIZENS
-Submit your application at the Visa Application Centre (VAC) operated by VFS Global. The VACs are located in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Durban
-Post your application to the High Commission of India in Pretoria or the Consulate General of India in Johannesburg
2. In order to apply for a visa, you will need to have the following documents:
-A valid passport with at least two blank pages
-A completed and signed visa application form
-One recent passport sized photograph against a white background
-Proof of onward/return journey (e.g. flight itinerary, hotel booking confirmation etc.)
-Other required documents as specified on the website of the High Commission/Consulate General (e.g. business cover letter, bank statement etc.)

Documents required
All South African citizens who wish to travel to India must have a valid visa. There are different types of visas available, depending on the purpose of your visit.

Fees

For business visas, the fee is $250 for a single entry, $500 for a double entry, and $1,000 for a multiple entry visa. There is also a $10 processing fee for all visa applications.

When to arrive at the Embassy?
- South African citizens can apply for an Indian visa at the Embassy of India in Pretoria or at the High Commission of India in Cape Town.
- Applicants are advised to arrive at the Embassy/High Commission well in advance of their intended travel date to avoid disappointment.
- The normal processing time for visa applications is 5 working days, but this may vary depending on the individual case.
